Blocked drain outside 91 High St,Irthlingborough

Reported in the Blocked/Damaged category by Elsie Cook at 21:33, Thursday 4 April 2019

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 7 minutes later. ref: 1594507.

This drain is blocked causing water to not drain away when it rains. This water then gets splashed over passers by and me when I enter and leave my property when cars drive through it. I had a gate fitted in the hope that it would stop it splashing against my front door and inside my property when I open my door. Unforthnately this still happens as it splashes over the gate, such is the amount of water and the force with which cars drive through it.

  • Thank you for looking at this so promptly. The drain is full to the cover with silt, leaves etc so it will need emptying at the same time that the cover is replaced, not just by the normal road sweeping vehicle

  • You can see the splash that is caused when cars drive through this water. I paid £15 to have my windows and front door cleaned on Wednesday and by Friday night the front door was filthy. Please advise when this drain will be unblocked otherwise I will take my complaint further. Thank you. Elsie Cook

  • This drain is making my life a complete misery as even a light rainfall causes it to overflow with water. I have now reported it to my MP. Elsie Cook
