The foot path is overgrown
Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 21:29, Sat 27 April 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 1 minute later. ref: 1614694.
The footpath is obstructed by the verge and an overhanging hedge which leaves a very small space to walk on. It is not possible to walk on the path with a larger buggy or with your dog or to run on the pavement without having to step into the road. Some of this is just after a blind corner which poses a great danger to pedestrians. As far as I am aware this has been reported for two years now and nothing has been done about it.

This situation at the top of cotton end is getting ridiculous now - the work vans were there and had signs up to say they were cutting the hedges last week but nothing was done by them just before lodge lane (between coton end park and lodge lane) is horrendous and in parts the footpath is totally overgrown. This road is far too dangerous for pedestrians to be having to walk in the road and an accident is waiting to happen here.

I walk my dog down this path most days & it’s becoming increasingly more difficult, I have to walk in the road when there’s no cars as there’s not room side by side. It’s also quite scary wen you have to walk so close to the road when there’s large lorries thundering past. It’s been like this for too long, something needs to be done ASAP

Hedge on narrowest section was cut back last week following lifting of birds nesting restrictions additional works to trim hedges over the length of this footway are imminent and once these works are complete we will look at the possibility of removing overgrown turf from the footway to achieve maximum walking width.
