The footway width of the 'new' Network Rail bridge is unsatisfactory. New footway is just 1.5m wide next to busy road.

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 3 minutes later. ref: 1628359.
The footway width of the 'new' railway bridge is unsatisfactory. New footway is just 1.5m wide yet next to a busy road.
It seems that a new bridge alignment has been constructed in 2018, yet there is footway on one side only (north side) and constructed to minimum width (DfT – Inclusive Mobility, 2002). Pedestrians are, perhaps, feeling 'sandwiched' between a busy road with significant proportion of HGVs and the high parapet. The 'canyon' effect created by the high wall and passing lorries is uncomfortable and unattractive to use. At one location, visibility is restricted by the bend, because of the parapet and the road restraint system.
It is disappointing that there is no street lighting across the new bridge.
In addition, an opportunity appears to have been missed to provide a wider, more attractive, less stressful (?) footway, possibly even wide enough to be a shared-use footway / cycleway with a 'buffer' or margin adjacent to the A510 carriageway. A footway on the south side of the bridge would have been beneficial also, especially noting the proposed developments in the vicinity and when Roundhouse Way opens to traffic.

The height of the sides will be due to the electriciation below. But I agree its not good. When will the country council get the drainage at this location sorted out? I have raised this for months and still not sorted. After last nights moderate rain, yet again water was across nearly meeting at the middle of the road from both sides. The drainage has been totally useless since it was re-built with the drains not taking any water away. Second to this, as was raised on the old streetdoctor system, presumably not carried over, is the sharper turn east bound where the tyre marks on the kerbs show where vehicles are clipping them. It also has a worrying depression in the carriageway appearing on the southern part of the bridge close to the kerb. Not good for something not even a year old...

The two drains were an after thought i bet.it seems they are not connected to any drainage system, just a soak away ,as the road had all ready been constructed.floods easily.the tarmac is still sinking on the bridge.
