Water leak from the grass area by the lamp post onto the footpath.
Reported in the Obstruction (Not Vegetation) category anonymously at 16:26, Tue 14 May 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 5 minutes later. ref: 1629692.
There has been a water leak for approximately 3 years now. It appears to be coming up from the ground on the grass verge next to the lamp post and running down the footpath. This is now becoming dangerous as it has now covered the whole footpath and is flowing down the hill. In the winter time it is freezing over and other times it’s very muddy and sludgy. I have witnessed 2 mums with pushchairs fall over, 1 trying to walk on the footpath through the water and 1 trying to go round it on the grass area. I have seen a young boy slip over in the water and a boy come off his bike trying to brake on the hill with the muddy water causing him to skid off of his bike. Anglian water have been out twice and stated that it is the councils issue. Please can this be looked into and fixed.

I walked by this area just now and the path is UNWALKABLE due to an inch of mud and running water; a mother had to push her pram and baby on the grass to avoid this. Anglian Water have told me that it’s a natural spring causing this problem so can you fix this ASAP thanks, Philip Mason.

I have just walked by this path and even with no rain for a week, the path is IMPASSABLE due to thick mud and running water and I saw a person slip over after trying to jump over the path !!

As previously reported by others, this situation has been around for some time, making the footpath unpassable and best and lethal in the winter. I reported this to Anglian Water recently who had the decency to visit, investigate and come back to me. It appears this is an underground spring, not a water main that has burst, but when the work to lamp columns (the one featured is L4HDA) was done, the contractors damaged the underground channel. Please get the contractors to re-visit, investigate and make good. I look forward to an update.

This problem is getting worse and my son slipped over in this trying to find the safest, cleanest way down the path. This is a busy route to the local schools and will only get worse with winter approaching. Anglian water have already visited the site and stated it is not their issue.
