6 blocked storm drains
Reported in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 11:00, Thu 16 May 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 5 minutes later. ref: 1631445.
Six storms drains between the A5 and George Lane are completely blocked. One located at the 'traffic calming' is completely buried under debris washed down from the A5, three others are full to the top with debris. This has been reported by Long Buckby Parish Council clerk and chased up at least once. When there is heavy rain the water flows down George lane and much of it arrives at my front door and on occasions I have to lift a sewer cover to release the water. Please not that your map has the road wrongly named, it is not and has never been Station Road, it is and has been for some years Three Bridges Road, Long Buckby Wharf.

The drains were recently cleared and a fantastic job has been done, however one was missed which is the 3rd drain down from the A5 on the north side. This one is in desperate need of clearing.

Thank you for your enquiry and for bringing this matter to our attention. We understand that you have concerns about the condition of the drains on A5 specifically that you feel they are blocked and potentially pose a flooding risk. Whilst we appreciate your comments and frustration, we have carried out an investigation and can confirm that there are no immediate safety concerns evident. However, we are pleased to confirm that cyclic cleansing of the drains and gullies in this area will commence in the near future (within the next six months). In some cases, we are able to attend before this prospective time; however, at this time, we have no further information other than the timeframe given above.
