Reported in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 09:11, Thu 23 May 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 5 minutes later. ref: 1637748.
Cars are parking on the right hand side of Weedon High Street as you pull out of the Tesco Express car park. This makes it very dangerous as when you are trying to come out the road you have to pull out fully into the main road to see oncoming traffic from towards Daventry. This puts you on the wrong side of the road to turn out and other vehicles on the main road are trying to get into the car park or past these vehicles on the incorrect side of the road. Major accident waiting to happen!! Some road markings need put on this area to stop people parking here and also the keep clear lines have faded on the high street at the entrance to Tesco express and need repainting

Thank you for your query to Northamptonshire County Council’s Street Doctor Service with regard to parking in High Street, Weedon causing issues when exiting the Tesco Express shop. Our maintenance section are arranging to refurbish all the roadmarkings through High Street, Weedon and this will include the parking restrictions outside Tesco and these will extend upto the pedestrian crossing on this side. This should make it clear to driver that they should not park in this area and ensure that visibility is maintained from the store entrance..

Any update on when this going to get done? It’s still happening and is very dangerous that cars/vans are now doing this on a daily basis from the entrance all the way upto the pedestrian crossing so you can’t see a thing
