Dear Sir/Madam, I have residents in the Hatton Park Road area asking me to get in touch with our local Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Northamptonshire County Council Highways to organise a meeting to discuss the problem of dangerous and excessive speeding of cars, trucks, and motorcycles along Hatton Park Road and the surrounding area. The residents need one of these authorities to act before there is another accident and someone is killed or seriously injured!! The residents are prepared to pay for signs with just a plain speed camera illustration without words to combat what has become a very serious situation regarding the safety of residents, children and old people. After multiple requests and referrals to these different authorities, we have had absolutely no response whatsoever only attempts to pass the buck on to another office that then passes the buck on again. As nothing has been forthcoming, the residents of this area will take action by erecting and paying for their own speed camera signs in an effort to slow vehicles to a respectable and safe speed as there appears to be no chance of Northants County Council erecting any kind of deterrent I refer to a statement from your own web page Quote: Safety camera sites All fixed safety camera sites in Northamptonshire were decommissioned in April 2011. All of the locations are being maintained and monitored throughout the year. The structures remain in place and continue to face strategically towards the carriageway in order to take advantage of their significant deterrent effect on speeding motorists and consequent positive influence on anti-social driver behavior. (Close quote.) It seems to be the deterrent we are looking for? https://www3.northamptonshire.gov.uk/ councilservices/ northamptonshire-highways/ road-safety/ Pages/ safety-camera-sites.aspx
