Seepage at junction Kettering Road with StMichael's Avenue
Reported in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 11:27, Mon 17 June 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 3 minutes later. ref: 1663538.
First reported under Street Doctor 952971 20/8/18... and various other St.Doc reports since. Repair works did eventually take place... but failed to resolve the underlying issue. The seepage is now more pronounced: the carriageway is cracking and starting to subside in places.

Thank you for your enquiry. Investigatory works were carried out previously in this location to ascertain the cause of this rising water and it was found that this ground water issue requires significant capital investment to resolve. At the time of these investigatory works, intermediate measures were installed to try and improve the situation in the medium term. Northamptonshire Highways are currently in discussion with Northamptonshire County Council’s Flood Team to try and secure funding for this scheme which will be completed as soon as it is available.

This leak has still not been fixed and has waterlogged all the underlying soil causing my property in St Michaels Avenue to constantly shake and heave up and down through hydraulic action like a ship on water whenever a vehicle passes by along the Kettering Road or down St Michales Avenue or St Michaels Mount.

Following our previous response, we are in discussion to secure funding in order to rectify the issue. Kettering road is a gritting route and therefore no issues should arise with the change in temperature. In the meantime, we will revisit the gullies in the area and cleanse accordingly. We will update you as soon as we receive any further information.
