Footpath reduced due to overgrown vegetation causing danger to pedestrians
Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category by Nikki Payne at 12:41, Tue 25 June 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 4 minutes later. ref: 1673713.
Several complaints have been made recently about this problem on the B5385 and no action has been taken as yet. The footpath has been reduced to about 30cm in parts by the grass verge encroaching onto it and also the hedgerow has grown outward pushing any pedestrian into the road and therefore into the path of oncoming vehicles travelling at the national speed limit of 60mph or more.
Thank you for reporting a fault on the highway. We will use the information you have provided to assess and prioritise this fault in accordance with our published response times for fault reports.

Inspected today and works order raised to trim hedges and vegetation to mitigate safety issues this should be completed within two weeks however more extensive works will have to be investigated for later in the year when nesting restrictions have been lifted. This more extensive work is dependent on available funding.

30-06-19 Hedge getting bigger due to rainfall followed by sunshine. Nearly got squashed by a horsebox today whilst out for my run. I was literally in the hedge to get a decent picture did you. As you can see by my feet, there’s not a lot of room and this is a very popular walk for people.
