Large tree in private household overhanging public path and prohibiting walking

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 4 minutes later. ref: 1682406.

Tree in 80 Kettering rd garden overhanging wall significantly and obstructing and impeding public footpath in Shelley street. I believe Highways act enforcement required.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. A letter has been sent to the relevant homeowner requesting that the overhanging vegetation is cut back. A revisit will be carried out 30 days after receipt of letter.

  • Why is it still impeding the pathway more than 30 days later? Please can it be sorted as I can’t use the path

  • The 30 days have passed on this matter and the tree remains as such. It is potentially a hazard and also a nuisance as you can’t walk upright under the tree

  • I keep getting random empty Alerts to my email in regards to the tree that remains impeding a footpath but no written confirmation of action to resolve matter since letter was sent. What does investigating mean please ?

It would appear that the property has recently changed hands and we are trying to obtain new details from the Land Registry.
