Lack of White lines

Reported in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 09:41, Wednesday 3 July 2019

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 5 minutes later. ref: 1682838.

Ref : Orlingbury Road, south exit from Pytchley, 3/4 miles from the last house in the village. There is a double S bend which has white lines at the beginning and end of the bend but no white lines on the bend itself. These were in place numerous years ago but have worn away from vehicle usage and weather. With 3 cars leaving the road last year alone and 1 fatality in April 2018, shows that this section of the road needs further urgent attention. If the white lines were continuous on the bend this would give drivers an indication of the severity of the bend. After the fatality, the highways did install 40mph signs at either end of the S bend. Repainting the white lines on the road would hopefully prevent these accidents happening again
