Turning in and out of the road to Barton Road the road is very rough following the road works that were undertaken earlier in the year and have been like this for several months .This work needs to be completed as soon as possible. The red and white barriers need to be replaced as they obstruct the view from the junction.

Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire Highways. Work to complete the junction will be programmed once the Site at Warkton Lane is complete. The pedestrian barrier on the island has been pulled back to provide wider visibility at the junction.

This junction has been left in a terrible condition - work started months ago has not been finished and buses and cars entering Polwell Lane from Barton Road have negotiate a sloping road - the barriers are still up around the island and the tarmac and road surface all around have been left in a terrible condition - when is this work going to be completed ?

This problem started at least 6 months ago. In heavy rain a little lake appears on the north side of the junction.

Large pothole on left side of island going to Kettering and very uneven surface on right hand side of island which today is full of water and causing dangerous obstruction. This juncture Has been left in an appalling state for months and nothing has been done about it. I have a bad back and it is impossible to manouvre this junction without discomfort. Also if any damage is incurred to either my back or my car I will be sending the council the bill.

Thank you for contacting the County Council regarding the junction of St Boltophs Road and Barton Road. The Developer and Contractor experienced issues on site and were given a 2 month extension to complete their works by the April 2019. Sadly they were not able to do this and after consulting with the Borough Council and County Council Northamptonshire Highways instructed the developer and contractor to reopen the road so that other works in the area could progress as consulted and planned. Northamptonshire highways are aware of the Road condition at this junction and are monitoring this with the developer to see if additional works are required ahead of completing the junction in the new year.

They wasted money on those dangerous islands on the Kettering road having almost invisible kerbs; very dangerous in the dark and rain, with strange kinks. Instead of concentrating on oncoming traffic you are trying to see where the road has gone. They couldn't care less about the Polwell Lane junction, 18 months with no further work or tidying up.
