Cracked and sunken footpath
Reported in the Slabs - Uneven / Damaged / Cracked category anonymously at 21:58, Mon 8 July 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 9 minutes later. ref: 1689233.
My wife is disabled we we can not get access over Florence Rd as there is no ramps for wheels. Other roads have user friendly disabled access but at the junction of Florence Road into Allen Road there isn’t any and this is now affecting our lives. The pictures attached also shows a car parked right across the corner. The corner has been bodged before and looks a complete mess we need disabled user friendly ramps putting in so wheels can safely cross Florence Road this should of been done years ago.

Thank you for your enquiry. Subject to the local highway authority financial budget, we shall include your request onto our Northamptonshire Highways Small Works list to have this kerb dropped for wheelchair/mobility scooter/push-chair access. If you feel that road safety may be compromised by the parking of vehicles at this road junction, we normally would suggest that initially you may wish to inform the owners of the offending vehicles, if known, and explain the concern that their parking is causing. If this suggestion is not practicable or proves ineffective and parking issues continue to affect the visibility at this location, then the best way forward would then be to contact Northamptonshire Police. Parking a vehicle inappropriately where it is deemed not possible for drivers or cyclists to safely manoeuvre and pedestrians or wheel-chair users to pass unhindered along the footway or that access to public or private property is impeded, should be reported to Northamptonshire Police’s Safer Community Team on 101 or via the police’s website.
