Trench like Pothole near the 50s/60s numbered houses on Billing Road
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 17:30, Thu 11 July 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 5 minutes later. ref: 1693232.
To call the problem there a pothole is a term i would use loosely. It is more like a trench. I have to brake to go over this 'trench' as it runs across the whole of that part of the roadway, and if you hit it at say 30 or even 20 mph, you are looking at damage to your car. Of course this braking is dangerous and I often get beeped at by drivers who cannot understand why I am braking, when they can see no obvious obstruction. I use this route everyday and if this trench is not dealt with very soon, you will be having a lot of claims for damaged suspension I foresee. Please do something; it is getting steadily worse and I for one don't want my car off the road, through no fault of my own.

This has got far worse since this picture was taken on 7th July. Any large vehicle passing this trench causes my whole house (18 Berkeley Close) to vibrate like a mini earthquake and Cracks are appearing. When is this going to be fixed it is a serious problem that no-one is taking responsibility for.

I've recently had to have my car fixed, I suspect due to this horrendous trench in the road, today I've driven over it again as I couldn't break due to cars behind me and it sounded like something fell off my car from the impact! Can someone sort this now, it's getting dangerous and expensive to vehicles!!

The reports Ref Nos 1667075, 1693232 & 1738618 All relate to the Collapsed Trench in the East Bound carrage way O/S No 50 Billing Road. It is getting worse daily and my property is suffering from the constant vibrations of traffic passing over the lardge dip in the road. You should stress the urgency of this matter to Angian Water if it is their fault, because in the end it is your responsibility to see that the roads are maintained correctly and to see that this is put right quickly. I first reported this in June and although I had the location slightly wrong, had any one come out to examine they would have found it quickly. Perhaps you would like to send someone to my house so that they can experence what happens when large vehicle pass over the trench.
