Hi, I am providing an update on behalf of the Environment Agency. Our operatives have been to site and informed me that the bridge that has been damaged is in fact the next bridge further South along Duston Mill Lane (grid ref: SP7292759626), there are no concerns with regards to flood risk and as such it will be the landowners' responsibility to remove from the watercourse. Please see uploaded the photographs taken. I have also informed Anglian Water due to the proximity to their site, Many thanks, Emily

Hi Emily
We understand the bridge is adopted highway and that the Highways Agency are responsible for re-building the brick sides to the bridge. Please confirm. Also Alfie and James who visited the site this morning confirmed that the Highways Agency would return today to erect temporary barriers and also seek to close all public right of way over this bridge until the bride has been repaired by Highways. An alternative route for the public right of way exists and Alfie was shown this. Please would you confirm that Highways will erect temporary barriers today. Thank you. Robert Prentice -07790618006

Hi Robert, Apologies for my delay in responding to you. I work for the Environment Agency so unfortunately cannot confirm anything with regards to Northamptonshire Highways or the erection of temporary barriers, I can only respond with regards to flood risk. Sorry that I cannot be of more help, Kind regards, Emily

Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire Highways. The ownership and responsibility of the structure is unknown, and we are trying to establish this. We will be requesting that the structure owner makes the exposed edge of the bridge deck safe. We will update you with our progress.
