Traffic lights
Reported via iOS in the Signal Stuck category anonymously at 21:50, Tue 23 July 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 5 minutes later. ref: 1706615.
Since the lights were reinstated at the cransley park junction, the lights northbound heading towards to A14 repeatedly change to red for absolutely no reason. Causes tailbacks on the A43 at rush hour needlessly. They don’t change at all on the southbound carriageway. The park isn’t working therefore no need for the lights to keep changing

Thank you for your report. The signals at this location where installed as part of the development of the site and have been made operational due to the increase in construction traffic entering and exiting the site. We have arranged for an engineer to attend site and make some adjustments to the detection whilst we await the remedial works to be completed by the developer.

Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire Highways. Following our previous update one of our senior engineers has attended site and adjusted the detection and timings to improve the situation and have been monitoring the operation of the signals since this work was completed. The traffic signals were installed by the developer for Cransley park and they are still responsible for them until the site is completed and they have completed any remedial works. Due to the increased amount of site traffic it was necessary to bring the signals in to operation earlier to allow safe entry and exit to the site. In addition we have identified that contractors on site have been parking on the sensors located in the access road which has been causing the signals to change unnecessarily. We have spoken to the contractor on site who is ensuring that people do not park on the sensors whilst working on site. If you are still experiencing problems at this junction please contact us again by logging a new report on the street doctor system.
