This was dealt with by our out of hours team at the time of the incident. There are two affected trees one id a Horse Chestnut which is a hedgerow tree and is consequently the responsibility of and owned by the adjacent landowner and one is an oak tree which is growing in the highway verge and is consequently classed as a Highway Tree and is our responsibility. An initial visual survey has been carried out and there would appear to be no immediate safety issues. We have asked our tree surgeon to do a more in depth survey of the trees in question to ascertain what further actions may be necessary for the long term health of the tree in question. The debris from the incident was moved off of the highway as a short term measure until removal could be arranged either by ourselves or the landowner in that some period of time has elapsed since the incident i will get my contractor to remove this.
