We have been in contact over the years about this very large silver birch tree which is now getting out of hand. The piece of land it stands on is a public right of way. In 14years it has only been cleared once. The Chase mainly consists of bungalows and the detritus from this tree especially to no 4 and 5 is causing drains and gutters to be blocked more and more regularly, causing some domestic flooding. Holidays can never be taken without the gutters being checked. The roots appear to be lifting the block paving at no5. We would appreciate an inspection at your earliest convenience, with a view to discussing the future of this tree.
Thank you for reporting a fault on the highway. We will use the information you have provided to assess and prioritise this fault in accordance with our published response times for fault reports.
