Dangerous junction
Reported in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 11:38, Fri 13 September 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 3 minutes later. ref: 1766297.
There was a fatal RTA 10/9/19 at this junction. I have worked in Manfield complex for several years and myself and coleagues have had several near misses as this juction; it is dangerous from each approach especially when turning right into Maderville close when travelling north on Kettering Road. There are no clear road markings and on coming traffic have road signage indicating they can go straight on in both lanes which is not satisfactory. Please can you advise if the saftey of this junction is being reviewed; if not I have been asked by staff on this complex to raise a petition.

Whilst we accept that every section of road network represents a risk to one type of road user or another, it is sadly impossible to totally eliminate those risks, particularly when occasionally there are a minority of motorists who wilfully choose or inadvertently ignore the rules of the road. In terms of this particular recent collision, we are prevented from making any comment whilst the incident is under investigation by the police. However, our police colleagues will always contact us during the very early stages of an investigation if they have any serious concerns about the section of road network in question.
State changed to: No further action
