Traffic lights South to North at Cock Hotel Junction not allowing enough time for volume of traffic (12 seconds on green
Reported in the Request Timing Review category anonymously at 12:13, Sun 6 October 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 4 minutes later. ref: 1794310.
I have previously reported and it had been fixed but the Cock Hotel Junction traffic lights have gone out of sequence again at weekends, they are only letting about 5 or 6 cars to through before going back to red. In fact I timed them and they are only on green for 12 seconds. this causes un-necessary tailbacks of traffic at the weekends when the traffic is lighter. it doesn't appear to be affecting Mill Lane or Kingsthorpe Grove directions. This is a repitive issue and needs addressing.

Traffic is backing up along Kingsthorpe Grove all the way back to the racecourse. I have asked recently for the traffic lights to be adjusted at the Cock Hotel by that are still not letting enough traffic through. This is causing a build up of traffic. Please look again at the timings of the traffic lights. I am going to submit a FOI to ask for more detail on the timings of the lights.

Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire Highways in relation to the issues you are experiencing. This call has already been closed down as the original issue in regards to short timings at weekends has been resolved. We have contacted the original customer this morning who confirm the original issue is resolved and has not updated this call. Please can you submit a new call in relation to the timings on Kingsthorpe grove providing contact details so we can contact you to personally discuss as there are no contact details for you. The Traffic signals on this part of the Network operate under SCOOT control which constantly adapts the signal timings based of traffic conditions and does not operate fixed green periods. During busier times of day main routes (In this case the A508) are prioritised over minor routes. We monitor the junctions by CCTV and manually override the signals if required.
