There is nothing wrong with the road, the lights have been there for weeks and no work done. Is it idleness that has not seen the obstruction removed? The lights could always go back if ever any work is intended in the future.

Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire Highways. The temporary traffic lights are in place to protect the parapet wall which has been damaged by an errant vehicle and as the parapet wall is supporting the road these temporary traffic lights are also to there to protect the travelling public from a further dangerous occurrence by keeping vehicles away from the affected edge. Whilst there has been little activity on site there is a significant amount of work being undertaken by the design team to work up a sustainable and durable solution, the temporary traffic lights will remain until a contractor is appointed to undertake the works. We are expediting the works as much as is possible and will keep all affected parties informed as the scheme progresses.
