Drain still dangerous and not repaired correctly
Reported in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 12:46, Tue 22 October 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 4 minutes later. ref: 1814806.
This blocked and dangerous drain was reported a few weeks ago, and bizzarely the case has been closed as completed. It still remains blocked and unused, all that has happened is the drain entrance has been cleared away. The grass around the drain is still long and hides the 18inch deep hole. The temporary barrier has now fallen over. Yet the previous case has been closed as completed. This is totally unacceptable and the drain has been CCTV'd by Northampton Highways about 6 years ago and was blocked and beyond repair then. Also looking at the Highway map the actual drain is not even marked as a drain. This dangerous drain is on the famous Jurassic Way and is heavily used every day and especially at weekends by tourists and walkers, young and old, it will only be a matter of time before someone falls down this large hole. This drain has never been usable for over 20 years and it is now time the County Highways filled it in and stopped wasting money, as the plastic red temporary barrier is not a long term solution.
