Report of dangerous road layout.
Reported in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 13:03, Tue 22 October 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 2 minutes later. ref: 1814828.
There has been some very near head on crashes on this semi-circular access rd for properties numbers 1 to 13 Roman Way. Vehicles are driving both ways at speed on the semi-circular access rd. To prevent a serious accident from happening, it is proposed one side of the semi-circular access rd is made into a no through rd, by fitting a kerb and continuing the main roman way footpath on the south side of the circle.

Thank you for your enquiry to Northamptonshire County Council’s Street Doctor service with regard to your concerns about safety on Roman Way, Desborough and your request to stop up one of the accesses of the crescent to reduce vehicle speeds. I have checked the injury accident record at this location for the last 20 years and am pleased to report that none have been reported, via the Police, at this location. In common with all roads within the county we will continue to monitor this area but this would not currently trigger any intervention for introducing such a scheme on casualty reduction grounds. With limited budgets we have to spend the available money where it can make the most difference – and that is at the sites where there is a record of serious accidents are occurring. I’m sorry that I cannot give a more positive response but hope that this explains the situation. Kind regards
