  • Hi there.

In Southwick there is an ongoing problem with surface water run off from the fields above the Shuckburgh Arms. This has occurred three times in the last few weeks, yesterday 7th November the latest (first image) & notably during The Conkers World Championships (Third image). The consequence is that significant water volume from the highway, overloads the drainage system. The drainage system (second image) appears to route through my property and down to the brook at the rear - essentially taking the whole load of the run off from the pub! This volume overload causes temporary flooding in our back garden and appears to have an impact on our cesspit with foul water leakage only at the same time as the surface water run off.

Highway water overloading the drainage through my property must be prevented as a priority.

Please advise what action you will take to prevent this occurring again, especially as the surrounding fields are saturated and more rain is forecast.

    Thank you
