Flooding inBrick Kiln Road, Raunds
Reported in the Blocked/Damaged category anonymously at 12:51, Fri 8 November 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 4 minutes later. ref: 1837795.
I am the person that got stuck there before the road was closed off. This was at approx 8AM. I could not get out of my car and had to call recovery. I was told that my car may be a write off due to the engine being flooded. I had an important meeting in Wellingborough at 10AM which was missed. I Was told by some work men that this area is always getting flooded which I have noticed in the past and this is due to the drainage system which cannot take the extra drainage needed due to the properties that were built in the area. This problem has caused me tremendous problems and costs and I am far from happy with this situation bearing in mind this keeps happening in this area and yet more houses are being built there. My car is now at Mercedes being looked at and I had to get a hired car. I would like to put in a formal claim for all the inconvenience caused by pure negligence which apparently nobody is willing to sort out.

Just to update you on the state of my car, The insurance company has decided to have a new engine put in at a huge cost. I have to pay the excess of £900.00 which I want to claim off the council. Please advise the next step I have to take. I have noticed since this incident that this part of the road has been waterlogged on a number of occasions since. Surely there must be something wrong. There are lots of people complaining about this situation which doesn't give the council a good name.
