It is now 9 weeks since I reported this issue and it still hasn’t been resolved. Today I cleared 2”of mud covering the entire surface of the entrance to my drive. Additionally the drain cover of the left hand drain as you look at my gate is broken and poses a real hazard and needs replacing. PLEASE ATTEND TO THE BLOCKED DRAIN AND CRACKED DRAIN COVER AS A MATTER OF URGENCY.

The first photo above shows the entrance to my drive yesterday (08/02) having spent £180 to get it cleared of mud. The second two photos show the entrance today (09/02). The entrance is completely impassable without Wellington boots because both drains are still blocked 13 weeks after my original report and 2 weeks after my update. Are you going to reimburse me for the cost of clearing this mess. I’m outraged and will now take the matter further.

Today, 10/02, I spent two hours shoveling mud and debris from my crossover. The first photo shows the position at 12:30 when I left home. I returned at 15:35 when I returned after further rain the crossover was flooded. The amount of rain would not have been a problem if the two drains weren’t blocked. I’m now considering removing the Co er to the sewers and sweeping all the water into the sewers. I have contacted my local councilor about this and my next move will be to contact my MP.

After another night of rain I have another lake at the entrance to my driveway. I’m so tired of it. It’s now 14 weeks since I first reported the two blocked drains on the highway at the entrance to my drive and 7 weeks past the deadline YOU set yourselves to fix it. The situation worsens each time it rains. Such atrocious contempt for your rate payers! Your works unit at Brixworth is a 10 minute drive from me! I’m tempted to find a private contractor to do it and claw back the cost from my next council tax payments. When the water recedes I’ll be left with inches of mud to clear again - for the fifth time. I’m too old for this shit!!!

I’ve just spoken to Northampton County Council and am told that the problem was fixed at 13:30 on 27/11/19. This is interesting because at 13:36 on that day this report was updated with a status of “Action Scheduled” and a resolution time of 28 days. Additionally I checked the drains that day and both still had copious amounts of mud across the covers and one was completely choked with mud. This appears to make this website useless as a reporting tool. I am assured that a new report has been raised and marked urgent and that work to clear the drains will be carried out within the next few days. My question is: has anyone checked my comments since 27th November? “Probably not“ would seem to be the answer!!
