No pedestrian barrier at school entrance
Reported in the Pedestrian Barriers - Damaged / Missing category by Dan Johnson (Site Supervisor at the school) at 11:10, Friday 15 November 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 5 minutes later. ref: 1847793.
There is no pedestrian barrier at the playground entrance to St Andrew’s Primary School on Brook Street, Kettering. This is the main entrance used by children and parents when dropping off and collecting on a daily basis. Brook Street is a dead end but gets busy with traffic at school opening and closing times. There is a turning bay opposite the gate and cars are often reversing towards the gate when children are still leaving. The barrier on the map is shown as being on Grafton Street but that entrance and barrier are no longer there. The current entrance has been in use for many years but there are concerns about child safety due to the amount of parents who choose to drive right up to the school gate. Could a pedestrian barrier be fitted at this entrance to improve safety?
