Large pothole on A4500 in NN5 5TW approaching the roundabout on Thursday 14/11 3.15pm caused two tyres to blow
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 11:59, Tue 19 November 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 1 minute later. ref: 1852952.
I approached the roundabout near to Sainsbury’s/ Cineworld on Thursday 14/11 at 3.15pm. I didn’t see any problem with the road but there was surface water due to the heavy rain earlier. I hit a pothole and knew straight away that a tyre had burst. I turned left and parked in Golby’s car park. The pothole had in fact torn both front and back passenger side tyres which I thought was incredible until I met the owner of a white van with exactly the same experience. Tom had been back to the pothole and taken photos which I’m sure that you have. Another car (pictured) was on the same car park at the same time with just one burst tyre. I didn’t know the area well as I was there on business and I called a customer of mine that I had an appointment to see. He came out to me and told me of the auto centre nearby so I put my hazards on and crawled there. They replaced the tyres with budget ones (invoice attached) and I was able to leave two hours after the incident. I had my tracking checked yesterday and it was correct. The garage told me that I was the 13th vehicle to be affected. I’m looking to claim back the cost of the invoice.
