Series of potholes on A6003 Northbound burst 2 of my tyres
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 14:49, Fri 22 November 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 1 minute later. ref: 1857734.
I was driving Northbound on the A6003 100m before the large roundabout that crosses Oakley Road ( it has a Beefeater and you can see part of the top of the Shell garage in one picture). I was in the near side lane and it was dark. It was 7.15 pm 21/11/19. My car struck the series of potholes you see pictured (more than 1, more than a foot wide and quite deep) and it burst both of my near side tyres immediately. As 2 tyres were burst I couldn't fit my spare tyre to resume progress and had to wait for the RAC which took well over 3 hours waiting in the cold. I was then recovered on a truck to my home address and it will be Monday 25/11 before a mobile fitter will be able to come to my home to fit replacement tyres and we can assess if there is any other damage. I would stress that these potholes must be particularly bad to ruin both of my tyres and they need urgently to be filled in. I have contacted the council road division to request a claim form for the damage but this still hasn't arrived by email, please can this be sent to me too?

This is certainly something that has been reported for some time and is getting worse. I am amazed that it hasn't been repaired as it could possibly endanger someone's life (cyclist or motorcyclist) and cause further damage to vehicles. I am becoming of the opinion that our town and county councillors obviously do not drive, or even travel, otherwise surely they would see these potholes for themselves and arrange the urgent repairs required.
