Large Pothole caused tyre blowouts and buckled alloy

Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 10:00, Wed 27 November 2019

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 5 minutes later. ref: 1864203.

A pothole on Hermitage Road, Brampton Ash LE16 8PE caused damage to my vehicle on Tuesday 19th November 2019 at 18.40pm when I was driving in my BMW X5M50d (new vehicle 68 plate). I was driving towards home to attend an important concert which my son was appearing in at the Corby Cube with his school. I instantly had a tyre pressure light come on and my front tyre on the left was flat and I was unsure of the damage to the wheel and others at the time. I had to call to be recovered which took 4 hours of waiting so I missed my sons’ concert. My car was then taken to BMW Northampton where on inspection I have been told I need 4 new tyres and a new alloy wheel at a total cost of £ 2937.67 The recovery driver knew as soon as he saw me what had happened and commented about the size of the hole as it jolted his large recovery truck and the various other holes and damaged to this road. I have also noted that the issue was reported on your website for other users who have suffered as a result of this damaged road with 2 other incidents reported in the same week. Depth in the middle of the pothole is over 10cm!

There are lots of other potholes that also need repair.
