Thank you for raising the enquiry and I’m sorry to hear of a child slipping on the zebra crossing. The road isn’t on a gritting route so a grit bin has been placed at the crossing for the public to use during severe cold weather. I have noted that a kerb needs repairing and we will complete this work within seven days. I will monitor the crossing during the next rainfall to investigate if ponding is occurring on the entrance to the crossing. If ponding is visible, I’ll discuss the issue with the maintenance team and decide on what measures we can take.
