Requires a Footpath

Reported in the Slabs - Uneven / Damaged / Cracked category anonymously at 15:00, Wed 4 December 2019

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing with a footpath/streetlight suggestion which I believe will enhance safety in the area and encourage more walkers within the town whilst also making it easier for those who do not drive.

There is currently no footpath on Saxon Way West between Saxon Way East and Headway. There are many people every day who walk along this section of road to access the industrial/business park estates and to also walk to Aldi/Beefeater. I think the foot traffic will increase much more when the new McDonalds/Costa opens at the Southern Gateway.

As there is no footpath here, people are forced to walk on a very thin section of mud and grass which is very uneven in places. this could be especially unsafe for children or people pushing prams. In some areas there is no option but to walk on the road as vegetation forces you off of the grass. Further to this there is also no street lighting on this section of road which is incredibly dark at night- I think this needs to change.

I hope that you will consider this to improve the safety and connectivity of our town.
