This problem has not been fixed. Last night 4/1/2020 I was pulled over by the police and given a ticket for going through them lights after waiting 7-8 minutes. I was extra careful and observant. I explained that the traffic lights are faulty and have been faulty for some time now especially during the night.
I see this problem was reported on the Friday 6th December 2019. It has not been fixed and I am appalled that this problem is ongoing and causing great distress. I shall seek an appeal as this is a problem the Country Council should have fixed as it was reported nearly a month ago.

I see I'm not the only who has realised there is a definite problem with these set of lights (St Michaels Rd). I have been waiting nearly ten minutes but nothing changes. Its only when cars come from left or right which triggers the sensors then it changes. Something very wrong here. I've experienced this problem mainly during the night numerous times.

Thank you for contacting Northamptonshire Highways. An engineer had already attended site following the initial report of an issue with the timings. The engineer has found that one of the detectors on St Michaels road has been damaged by utility works and requires replacement. To replace the detector requires the road to be closed for a period to undertake the works as the detectors are cut into the road surface. This is being organised and will be carried out once other road works nearby are complete as we cannot close the road when other roads nearby are also closed. Whilst the detector is faulty the signals will operate under a fixed time sequence which will result in waiting times of up to 1 minute which overnight will appear to be a long time. Following your update on the 4th January, a specialist engineer has attended site on Tuesday 7th and carried out adjustments to the timing to improve waiting times at different times of the day and reduce them to no more than 30 seconds at night 21:00 – 07:30. Works are being progressed to replace the damaged detector as soon as possible. The signals are monitored by a central monitoring system in the traffic control centre and our team will continue to monitor the operation of the Junction.
