Dangerous junction

Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 14:28, Mon 9 December 2019

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 4 minutes later. ref: 1880814.

The new junction on Cranford Road is still dangerous. It has been left coned off and still unlit since I reported it last time. To compound this the Whitemountain site entrances/exits are also unlit/unmanned and the also have no vehicle cleaning measures in place so mud is being dragged from the site onto the road and junction. My wife asked the question why there isn’t a round about there instead of this poorly designed/constructed junction?

  • Dear Mr Elliot Thankyou for contacting the County Council Regarding this Junction at Cranford Road. The county Council hasn't got access to the planning records regarding the design of the junction and the reasons why a roundabout was not proposed here however the junction layout being constructed ahs received technical approval. This being said all schemes of this nature are subject to Road Safety audits once constructed and any concerns / issues are addressed between the County Council and the developer to ensure the junction functions correctly as designed. This being the case your comments are noted and will be forwarded on to the auditors.
