The pavement alongside the A508 north of Brixworth is in a terrible state. It’s covered in mud and grass. The path is barely visible in places. The upkeep of the pavement is the responsibility of NCC, not Daventry DC, as advised by Darren Rolls of DDC Environmental Services.

Dear Mr Baker, Highways have over the past few months sided out and cleaned the A508 footpath from Pitsford to Brixworth and from Hanging Houghton to Lamport in response to requests from customers and parish councils we are due to carry out works from pitsford to brampton halt possibly early in the new year. We are aware that the footway from Brixworth to Hanging Houghton is in need of similar treatment and we are assessing what resources we may have available this financial year for this work. Work of this nature is affected by the christmas embargo on working on main roads and currently our resources are concentrated on high priority safety related pothole works. If funds do become available this financial year this section is the next one on our list to do. If not it is our intention to progress this early in the new financial year. Area Manager Highways.
