Hump zebra crossing sign is on a post by 'slow' sign on floor
Reported in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category anonymously at 15:57, Wed 11 December 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 3 minutes later. ref: 1884145.
Parents using the 'slow' red Tarmac surface as a crossing for the school. It now has one sign facing towcester saying it is a humped zebra crossing, but it isn't. I stopped today to let parent cross but the traffic coming from the other direction didn't stop as there is no sign facing the other way. Parents do think it is a crossing for the school but I don't think it is.

Thank you for your enquiry relating to the crossing warning signs. We can advise the location has been assessed and the signs you refer to are advanced warning signs for the zebra crossing. They are situated adjacent to the slow / red surfacing to highlight the need for motorists to slow down on the approach to the raised crossing. The red surface is not intended to be used as a crossing facility for pedestrians.
