Pedestrian and road safety concern

Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 21:10, Wed 11 December 2019

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 5 minutes later. ref: 1884498.

There is a significant height difference between the road and the narrow pathway outside of Houses 3 and 5 West End Welford. Due to this, there is a dip on entering driveways on the West side of the road. As a result, cars are having to be parked on the road causing further congestion to an already busy road increasing the risk to both road users and pedestrians. Furthermore, due to the speed at which cars enter the village and the width of the road, cars are being parked in part on the pathway, making it difficult for pedestrians to pass safely.

We should appreciate your immediate attention to the above, addressing the significant difference in road and pavement height, so as to reduce the risk of automotive incidents and / or pedestrian accidents.

  • Newlands Road potholes haven't been fixed. There is a large one after Millers Road on the left hand side of the road. Why cant the whole area of Newlands Road be tarmac like you have done at the beginning of Newlands Road? This is an ongoing problem that is seeing some holes being patched up while the smaller ones are left to get bigger with all the rain we have been getting before they are getting fixed which is taking weeks/months to get sorted.
