The Islands on stetch of road outside Wicksteed are dangerous and should be removed.
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category by David Tressler at 15:38, Thu 12 December 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 3 minutes later. ref: 1885664.
These Islands are hazards making cars swerve, there will be a serious accident one day. You can see the slabs have been hit several times and there is also poor lighting. I do not see why they were put in as I have never seen any excessive speeding in the 60 yrs I have been down that road.
Thank you for reporting a fault. We will use the information you have provided to assess and prioritise this fault in accordance with our published response times for fault reports.

Thank you for making us aware of your concerns about these new islands. They were installed on behalf of a local developer, as part of the conditions for their development. All such proposals go through a safety audit as part of the design and construction process, as well as a further review after construction. This would include a review of lighting, traffic speeds etc. When other changes along Barton Road are fully completed the whole scheme will be reviewed again.
