Bridge at risk from large fallen tree in stream
Reported in the Bridge-Damaged/ Missing category anonymously at 18:53, Mon 30 December 2019
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 2 minutes later. ref: 1911039.
Footpath HW44 (Redland Drive Kingsthorpe to Grange Farm) crosses two old mill streams. The bridge across the more easterly of the streams (just upstream of the mill pond) is an old brick bridge with more recent brick parapets. A very large dead tree has been in the stream for some time but has recently moved so it is partly wedged under the bridge and partly pressing against the arch. I am concerned that the bridge will face increasing water pressure as more debris collects, possibly leading to its destruction.
