Motorbikes & horses have wrecked bridleway, dangerous & unsafe
Reported in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 09:04, Thu 2 January 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 3 minutes later. ref: 1913856.
The bridle way has been churned up so much by the horses and in particular the motorbikes, it means it is unsafe for walkers to use. There are deep potholes and when we tried walking it, motorbikes came speeding along almost fell on us. It's unsafe and they have destroyed the bridleway, there is no safe walking path along it and with being raised up, you can't just step to the side because you'll slip down the ditch into the thorns.

Thank you for your enquiry. Public Byways RA24, SC43 and SC14 were inspected on 6-1-20. Unfortunately due to the extensive damage to the surface of these byways, a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) has been placed on these routes to close them to all users. An initial emergency 21 day closure will be followed by a further 6 month closure order. A further assessment to instigate the required repairs to these routes will be carried out as soon as weather and ground conditions allow during the summer of 2020.
