Double yellow lines have been partially tarmaced over.
Reported in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 19:03, Wed 8 January 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 3 minutes later. ref: 1926536.
At start of the hill on willow way there used to be double yellow lines on each side of the road to prevent vehicles from parking there as it could cause a safety issues for emergency service vehicle's to get through. Willow way leads to centenary way and is a new build site on the old RPC site next to the Globe pub.
New tarmac was laid and this has covered the lines which has now enabled people to park both sides of the road which is narrowing the road so larger cars and other vehicles struggle to get through. The cars create a chicane right before a blind bend leading into the estate.
In icy conditions this hill is particularly challenging and having the road narrowed as much as it is could cause accidents.
