Direction signs require changing
Reported in the Damaged / Missing / Facing Wrong Way category by Edmund Luck at 15:41, Monday 20 January 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 5 minutes later. ref: 1950514.
I bought a property in May 2018 from Persimmon Homes and have been waiting for the highway works to be completed. Late last year the junction between A4500 and Weedon Close was opened to traffic and at the same time a section of cycle track was introduced turning Weedon Close into a cul-de-sac (except for cyclists). I have asked Brian Penn (Persimmons Adoption Supervisor to have the old signs (which had the legend - Princess Marina Hospital) now covered with cardboard - amended to show that Weedon Close is now a cul-de-sac. I had assumed that this would have been to responsibility of the developer under a planning agreement but Brian assures me that the HIghway Authority is satisfied that all the works associated with the development have been completed. Several times a day drivers (especially delivery vans) turn into Weedon Close, find they cannot get though and in frustration disobey the left turn only sign at the junction.
As the HIghwy Authority appears to have accepted responsibility for these signs please could you arrange to have them changed as soon a possible to make it clear that te junction only serves Weedon Close (except for cycles).
