Reported in the Request Timing Review category anonymously at 08:16, Tue 21 January 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 5 minutes later. ref: 1951537.
Traffic southbound is being held at the traffic light at Talavera Way after the A43 light has turned green and when there are no vehicles exiting Talavera Way. This is causing unnecessary delays and contributing to increased CO2 emissions.

Thank you for Contacting Northamptonshire Highways. We have investigated you report and have monitoring the operation of the Traffic Signals on the Round Spinney roundabout. This junction normally operates under and adaptive traffic signal control method (MOVA) this monitor each approach and lane using sensors in the carriageway and adjusts green times based on road conditions. Unfortunately due to damage caused to all the detection on the A43 approach by the works to build the new bypass, we have had to disable this feature and return to operating the signals on a fixed cycle which we have been trying to optimise as best as we can to minimise delays. The detection will be replaced as part of the Moulton Bypass work being completed. This junction is monitored by CCTV by our Team in the traffic control centre and we will continue to monitor and adjust the signal timings as necessary.
