Thank you for your query to Northamptonshire County Council’s Street Doctor Service with regard to your concerns at the junction of Meeting Lane / Kettering Road, Rothwell. An officer has taken a look at this junction and due to the length of the narrow section of Meeting Lane and the limited view of approaching traffic for vehicles turning off the Kettering Road it would be not be possible to introduce priority working along this section. We have checked the injury accident record at this location for the last 20 years and am pleased to report that none have been reported, via the Police, at this junction. In common with all roads within the county we will continue to monitor this junction but this would not currently trigger any intervention for introducing further engineering measures on casualty reduction grounds at the junction. With limited budgets we have to spend the available money where it can make the most difference – and that is at the sites where serious accidents are occurring.
