Metal gate dropped and impossible to lift and open whilst on horseback.

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 4 minutes later. ref: 1963742.

On ER12 edge of Brickfield Farm field, metal field gate dropped and jammed into catch on post making it impossible to lift and move whilst on horseback impeding thoroughfare. There are 2 gates within a small area forming a box and tricky to negotiate opening & closure! Thank you.

  • Unable to go through gate on horseback because metal gate jammed tight onto catch..

  • This is a public bridleway and therefore should be kept open with easy accessibility for horseriders. British Horse Society have strict guidelines on safety issues on bridleways. Northamptonshire Access & Rights of Way should be informed thank you.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Visit has been made this morning and foundnthe gate reported. Landowner was also met on site and we have removed gate from hinges and put to one side until permanent fix can be made
