Leaf fall and mud causing problems with drainage
Reported in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 11:44, Tue 28 January 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 3 minutes later. ref: 1965269.
Due to leaf fall and excessive rain, the gutter along the road side of High Street South at its junction with the road to Caldecote has become clogged with debris. This has the effect of blocking the nearby drains which in turn causes the road to flood with any protracted rain. The debris has been cleared fro the top of the drain by residents but the gutters need cleaning properly and the drains cleared out professionally.

The problem with blocked drains continues at a number of locations in the village, not least High Street North and Eastcote Road. It is quite clear to see that no water is draining away and just building up on top of the drains. Tiffield has been subject to flooding in the past and the continual rain fall makes this a very real possibility. Local residents do their best to clear debris from on and around the drains but some need to be properly cleared inside the drain itself to allow rain water to drain away.
