2 lanes narrow into 1 and no markings

Reported in the Road Markings - Worn/Faded category anonymously at 15:09, Saturday 15 February 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 2 minutes later. ref: 2000228.

As you approach the M1 roundabout on the A428 from Crick the road is one lane... it then expands to 2 at the roundabout. Almost every day cars in both lanes go straight over the roundabout and then almost crash as the road narrows under the m’way bridge to one lane. Why not put lines on approach to roundabout so left lane turns left (m1 south) and the right lane is for straight on or turn right traffic...therefore 2 cars won’t end up sudden braking in the dark as they go under the m’way bridge and the road narrows into one lane. I drive this every day and lorries are the worst as they can’t see the second car when 2 vehicles go straight on at the same time.
