URGENT-fallen tree propped up and about to fall on road
Reported in the Restricted Visibility / Overgrown / Overhanging category anonymously at 17:17, Sun 16 February 2020
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 3 minutes later. ref: 2002000.
A tree (on the land of COLLINGTREE Golf Course) fell across Lodge Avenue (a sheltered housing street for the sick and elderly) on 9/2/20, completely blocking the highway so no residents could leave or enter the street. Hours later after numerous phone calls to the golf course, their 'groundsmen' came and moved some of the tree blocking the road, but pushed the main trunk up and have propped it up between some very weak laurel bushes. The tree is now hanging over the road and is about to fall again, which would kill anybody driving in or out of Lodge Ave should this happen. Likewise there are other trees along the side of the street that are severely hazardous and could fall onto these properties at any time. There are also branches from the golf clubs trees all over the road. The golf course are not interested at all, as the Parish Council have been trying to make them do something for over 12 months. It doesn't help that any tree surgeons they employ, they do so on 30 day payment terms, but don't pay them until months later. The general manager Phil Jones is just vile to deal with and very arrogant, and just doesn't care at all. NCC started enforcement with them last year, which went on for months until they fulfilled their responsibilities. Please refer to previous report ref 1624610 and old street doctor ref 964916. Somebody needs to come and inspect this ASAP before somebody dies.
