Muddy and flooded.

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways 5 minutes later. ref: 2003221.
Have been meaning to report this for some time. The path approaching the bench from the East has been muddy for the most part since about October. I now use an alternate route to avoid turning up at work in muddy shoes! The banks need holding back somehow to avoid water and mud running off them. It can be very dangerous to walk as it is so slippery. Yesterday, the path in front of the bench was totally flooded. Not acceptable for a town public footpath and used as a main route to walk to Rushden Lakes and Rushden by many people. There was also a flood at the beginning of the wall to number 63 Northampton Road. Both floods caused me to have to walk on the road yesterday. Thank you.

This has been a problem for several months and with the A45 being closed at weekends and the diversion route along this way, pedestrians are putting themselves in danger trying to get along this stretch
