Vehicles parking on the grass verge adjacent to 68 South Copse

Reported in the Verges - Damaged by Vehicles category anonymously at 16:20, Thursday 20 February 2020

Sent to Northamptonshire County Council 2 minutes later. ref: 2011396.

This area of grass verge is located on a blind bend in the roadway of South Copse, East Hunsbury, Northampton, this verge is suffering from erosion of the grass and underlying soil caused by persistent car parking. This practice is also dangerous since the presence of vehicles parking on the verge restricts the view of motorists travelling in both directions which often results in hard braking as vehicles are confronted by other road user suddenly appearing when their presence was previously obscured by vehicles parked on the verge. This situation is made worse by the fact that during school holidays the grass verge is also used by some local children playing in the road and on the verge with bicycles and scooters and playing football. I feel it must only be a matter of time before someone is injured or worse by this irresponsible parking behaviour by a number of neighbours and by parents using South Copse to park while dropping off children to East Hunsbury Lower School.
